I have now made our link off of Facebook public to allow others to view in the hopes that it might encourage others to join us.

For those members who use Facebook the club does have a link off it but it is a closed group so do ask it to be a member if you are an actual club member

When we participate in the walking and roving hunts, we are given a list of specific places/objects/buildings to photograph. Similarly, on the mystery trip, we are given a list of specific items. Could I suggest that for the future it might be more of a challenge to take ten unspecified pictures which show the essence or character of the town concerned, Winchester, Torquay etc.. Just a suggestion, no criticism intended.

CCC does not currently have a Facebook page. The Committee is keen, at the moment, to use the website as the main point of focus. However, this may change in the near future.

Walking and Roving Hunts - the idea is that the image will be 'untreated' : cropping is allowed, but no other post-processing. I shoot in RAW all the time : when I have my images, I just save them as a JPEG and those are used for the entries in the competitions.

I would appreciate clarification please re the roving and walking hunts. I understand we are not allowed to post process our images at all. I usually shoot exclusively in RAW and process via Lightroom. Am I correct in assuming that I will now need to shoot as JPEG. Is cropping then allowed?

I have just ordered for myself 20 sheets of Daler Rowney mount board A1 size (850mm x 600mm. or 85cms X 60cms) Colour white one side and off white the other side with a white core. You are able to get two 50cms X 40cms photo mounts out of each card. If any member wishes to purchase some of this order from me then they can do so at 1.83p a sheet. See me at our next meeting to arrange collection etc.

Contact has been made with chardpress.co.uk and I will be sending our reports on what the club is doing/done to them in the future if there is no objection as they report all to do with Chard so please look out on the site.

GOOD PHOTO VIEWPOINT OF GLASTONBURY TOR

Park at the RSPB free car park located at Ashcott Corner as shown on the OS Map.
Head east along the (old railway) track towards Glastonbury and about a quarter to half a mile along there are various pools / lakes on the right where you get a good view of the door in the distance.

Google's NiK Collection has just become a free download which I've just implemented and assigned its plug-ins to my Adobe Photoshop software. I had the choice of that as well as Lightroom which I've also got installed. First impressions are very favourable. I read that Google will not be developing the software further so there will be no future updates.
