I have been into photography for longer than i care to remember. I'm a Nikon user, with Fuji X100S as my go anywhere. My interests are wide ranging, I try to keep an open mind as well as an open shutter.
I have enjoyed photography since I was 18 or so and bought my first digital camera in 2004.
I enjoy photographing historic buildings and architecture most of all, but I like all aspects of photography.
I have been into photography for many years, since back in the days of roll film and my big passion is landscape & seascape. I have at long last joined the RPS and Chard Camera Club and look forward to improving my photography.
After a couple of very successful years in the club comps, I decided in 2018 to try to improve, learning new skills and becoming more creative. Some skills are certainly still in progress! I did though purchase some LED lights, to concentrate on fungi in October and November. I am looking forward to the wildflowers this spring and summer, to enhance their beauty in a similar way.
Recent new member since Sept 2012. I have enjoyed photography as a hobby most of my life and have a passion towards birds of prey and a real enjoyment of all subjects that you can put your own mark on.
Aged 17, I joined the Parachute Regiment, enjoying a career of 25 years, traveling the world. I started taking photos with a Zenit B my uncle gave me when I joined up. For many years my main interest in photography was free-fall video and camera work, skills learned whilst serving as a member of the Red Devils Parachute Team. I hung up my jump boots in 2002 and now keep my feet firmly on the ground when taking photos! A hobby photographer, no specialist subject. The transition from film to digital has been an amazing experience and I also enjoy working in the digital dark room.
Proud to be Chairman of the Club. Constantly finding myself drawn to new genres of photography all the time, which is the whole point of it, I suppose ! All I need to do now is to master at least ONE of them !
I joined the CCC in April 2015 and am confident that doing so is helping me already to expand my photography skills and the widening of my portfolio of subject matter.
I am a keen photographer having joined the club in 1999 as a complete beginner. I use Nikon equipment and enjoy close ups, natural history and flowers.
I joined CCC soon after we moved to E. Devon in 2017 (yes, we live in Devon, but do have passports to cross into Somerset for Club meetings). I’ve enjoyed taking photos for years, but only bought my first “proper” camera about 4 years ago, after I started using a website where contributors post a photo a day for 1 year. I continued posting daily for almost 5 years, which was a great discipline to make me more observant and made me use my camera every single day and not put it away in a cupboard. We enjoy travelling (fortunate, as our only offspring lives in Taiwan) and it’s the main reason I always use Sony mirrorless cameras; they’re quite light to carry around. I’m not sure what genre of photography I prefer – probably why it’s a case of “Jack of all trades, master of none.”
From an early age when an uncle, who was a professional photographer,
gave me a Kodak Box camera, it was not until I retired and joined the
Club that I was able to devote time to improving my skills. I like to
produce a variety of images and I am always looking for a quirky image.
